This guide will give you an insight into recruitment. The guide is divided into three areas: hero recruitment, survivor recruitment and legend return hero recruitment.

What is recruitment?

Recruitment is used to acquire new heroes for your formations, as well as to rescue survivors who will work in the individual buildings in your base in the future. Recruitment takes place in the tavern s0_taverns0_tavern, and you can either tap on the building or on the hero recruitment button in your hero list.

To recruit heroes or survivors, you need recruitment tickets. There are currently three different ones and they each serve one of the above-mentioned recruitment methods: The Legendary Recruitment Ticket legendary_recruitment_ticketlegendary_recruitment_ticket to recruit heroes, the Survivor Recruitment Ticket survivor_recruitment_ticketsurvivor_recruitment_ticket to recruit survivors and the Hero Return Ticket hero_return_tickethero_return_ticket to recruit heroes for free during season 1 and 2, which were charged for before the start of the corresponding season.

Let's look at the individual recruitments in detail.

Hero Recruitment

HeroRecruitment

Hero recruitment is the first form of recruitment which you will get to know in the game. On the recruitment screen, tap the "Hero Recruitment" button in the bottom center. At the top of the screen you will see the number of Legendary Hero Recruitment Tickets legendary_recruitment_ticketlegendary_recruitment_ticket you have available.

To obtain more tickets, you simply have to be active in the game, as these are awarded as rewards on many different occasions. These can also be purchased in many different in-game shops:

In addition to recruitment with the recruitment tickets, there is free recruitment at regular intervals. The time interval depends on two factors. 

Firstly, the level of the tavern s0_taverns0_tavern. At level 1, there is free recruitment every 72 hours. With each level of the tavern, this time is reduced by 1 hour. From level 20, the time is only reduced by 30 minutes per level.

Secondly, from the surviving attendents who are assigned to the tavern. Each attendent also reduces the interval by a certain period of time. A legendary attendent, for example, by 6 hours. With four assigned attendents (if all are legendary), this means by 24 hours. If the tavern is now level 30, the interval between the free recruitments is 24 hours.

Recruitments can be carried out either individually or in sets of 10 by tapping the corresponding button. Each recruitment will give you one of the following rewards. Since the probabilities depend on the level and progress of the server, I will spare myself the trouble of listing them here. Simply tap the gift box button in the top right corner of the game to see it.

In the video you can see several rounds of recruitment including the rewards. Whenever you are lucky enough to recruit a new hero, they will be available to you immediately afterwards. So remember to adjust your formations if necessary. If you acquire a hero that you already own, you will receive 10 Hero Shards to upgrade it instead of the hero. There is also a guarantee of obtaining a hero after 50 recruitments - or 10 hero shards if you already own the hero.

Attention: every thursday, the recruitement of heroes also gives points for the alliance duel.

Wish Heroes (Season 1)

Within Season 1 there is an extension of hero recruitment, the so-called Wish Hero. This allows you to obtain 10 hero shards of a specific hero of your choice every 200 recruitments. Check out the Guide here.

Recruiting Survivors

Before we get into recruiting survivors, here is some basic information about survivors.

Survivors are extremely important to us because their skills improve the performance of our buildings. For example, there is the nurse who speeds up healing in the hospital, the farmer who improves our harvest, the scientist who speeds up our research, and many others. Survivors can be either common, rare, epic or legendary. Using survivor-specific shards in conjunction with survivor tokens survivor_tokensurvivor_token you can improve the epic and legendary survivors. Please see the corresponding Guide for more information.

Recruiting survivors works in the same way. However, before you can recruit survivors, you must upgrade your tavern s0_taverns0_tavern to level 3. You also need the survivor recruitment tickets survivor_recruitment_ticketsurvivor_recruitment_ticket instead of the hero recruitment tickets legendary_recruitment_ticketlegendary_recruitment_ticket. You can also get these through activity in the game and in various in-game shops:

As with hero recruitment, there is a regular free recruitment. However, this does not depend on the level of the tavern s0_taverns0_tavern. Initially, the period between free recruitments is 48 hours and can only be reduced by using epic survivors in the tavern. However, this is only possible if these have already been upgraded. Each survivor upgrade reduces the cooldown time by 6 minutes up to a maximum of 3 hours.

Recruitment is done in the same way as hero recruitment by tapping the corresponding buttons.

As a reward for each recruitment, you receive survivor shards and tokens. Every 50th recruitment gives you a guaranteed legendary survivor, or if you already have that one, the 10 corresponding shards.

Attention: every tuesday, the recruitement of survivors also gives points for the alliance duel.

Recruitment of legendary returning heroes

LegendsRecruitment

Returning heroes are only available during the season. While most legendary heroes are available for a fee outside of the season, some of these heroes are available as returning heroes for free during the season. So a little patience pays off. The selection of heroes that can be recruited as returning heroes is limited and changes quite frequently, so there is no list here either.

The Hero Return Ticket hero_return_tickethero_return_ticket is required for this recruitment. Unfortunately, these cannot be bought in any of the various in-game stores, so you have to collect them through activity in the game.

Here, too, after 50 recruitments, you are guaranteed a hero, and if you already own that one, 10 corresponding hero shards.
