Alliance Exercise
In this guide I will explain the Alliance Exercise a little further. This event takes place every 48 hours and lasts 30 minutes. The event is an important part of obtaining resources for the Alliance. The event is also known as the "Marshals Guard".
Preparation

The preparation consists of several steps that must be carried out by different members of the Alliance. It is the task of R4 and R5 to plan the Alliance Exercise, set the correct level, define the position of the guard and of course inform the Alliance in advance about the time of the exercise.
Alliance members of the remaining ranks also have some tasks. First, you have to build the drill field and thereby receive a damage bonus. To do this, simply tap the drill field building on the map, then the settings window and donate construction parts for the drill field. For every 100 parts donated, you get a 5% damage bonus for the exercise, up to a maximum of 500 parts and a maximum bonus of 25%. For each donation, you also get 500 alliance contribution points
. Donations that go beyond the maximum do not increase the damage bonus any further, but the alliance contribution points are granted, so this is a good way to gain further alliance contribution points for purchases in the alliance store.
As further preparation for the exercise, all participants must bring the troops back to the base from the start. Troops that are involved in the mines, in the fields or in combat on their own or another server are excluded from participation. The base should also be close to the guard, as we rely on short distances between our base and the guard.
Accordingly, I would like to write about the formation of the alliance in the next section - also preparation, albeit very long-term.
Formation of the alliance

The formation of the alliance plays a certain role in the performance of the alliance exercise. There are various aspects to consider, such as the marching time. The longer the path your troops take to the guard, the fewer attacks you will manage, so the paths should be optimized.
There are also damage bonuses for rallies initiated by R4 or R5, so these should have the shortest paths.
In addition, when performing the exercise, you will be clicking or tapping a lot in the area where the guard is positioned. You will curse a lot if you keep tapping on a base or another player who is probably on his way back to his base and moving your map. The extra free space around the guard will lower your blood pressure.
You can also build another formation, but this one combines all aspects together.
Building any formation requires the relocation of bases of individual or all players, and there are also frequent moves of the entire alliance. It's best to take a look at the guide to teleportation to understand the different types of teleportations on the map.
Note: When positioning, always make sure not to leave any gaps and keep the formation symmetrical. If there is no room for your base, make sure that space is created. This will be of fundamental importance in season 2 at the latest, as you will always be arranging yourselves around a furnace to keep the temperature of your base high.
Participation in the event
All alliance members can take part in the exercise. However, it is only advisable to take part if you have the necessary combat strength, as troops can be injured and even killed by attacks during the exercise. If the troop losses are too high, the rewards usually do not make up for this. As a guideline, you should not lose more than 60 to 80 troops per attack. So if you see that 120 troops have died during the first attack, you should cancel the event.
Offline participation
If you already know that you will not be online at the time of the exercise, you can activate "offline participation" on the event page in the game at the bottom right. This means that your strongest troops will automatically be sent to the rallies that are not yet fully filled 20 seconds before departure. This means you will even receive personal rewards at the end of the event based on the damage you caused in your absence.
Behavioral advice
If you are not taking part in the exercise but are still online, please make sure not to disturb the exercise. During this time, please refrain from starting gatherings, starting excavators, test flight failures or other things that could disturb the participants of the exercise.
Performance
The exercise is relatively simple and does not require much skill, but you should pay full attention, at least if you have low combat strength. The exercise lasts 30 minutes and after an R4/R5 has started the exercise, the maximum number of attacks must be carried out in this time.
The attacks always take place in rallies and each rally lasts three minutes. Depending on how far you are positioned from the guard, there will be around 7 to 9 attacks. With several squads, the number increases accordingly. Each alliance member can open one rally at a time and join as many rallies as they like. Rallies should always be opened with the second strongest team. Joining other rallies should always be done with the strongest and then with the remaining squads. This results in a certain rotation in the process. Which looks like this:
- Open a rally with the second strongest squad
- Join a rally with the strongest squad
- Join a rally with the third squad (optional)
- Join a rally with the fourth squad (optional)
This process is repeated until the end of the exercise.
Healing
After each completed attack, you will bring some wounded troops back to your base. Heal them again and again so that you have enough troops available. Make sure you only heal as many troops as are needed to complete the process within 45 to 60 minutes. This will ensure that the healing time is reduced to a few seconds thanks to alliance support.
Please also support your alliance members by repeatedly tapping the support button.
Opening a Rally
Opening a rally is easy to explain. Tap the 5 guard tanks on your map, select the rally attack, select your second strongest team and start the rally.
Joining a Rally
Joining a rally is a bit more complex because you have to work quickly and accurately to optimize the process, especially when combat strength is low. This is especially important if you are positioned a little further away from the guard.
In the list of active rallies, don't just select the first rally you see, but scroll down to find the oldest rally that still has free spaces. Try to join the rallies that either provide a damage bonus (because they were opened by an R4/R5) or have a very short route to the guard because the opening participants are well positioned.
Note: If you are positioned on the outer edge of the alliance, it makes more sense not to start your own rallies, but only to join other rallies.
War fever
War fever is a little help for you, as it increases your damage to the guard by 1% for 15 minutes. It is therefore recommended that you acquire war fever once at the start of the exercise and then a second time after about 15 minutes. The waiting times between attacks can be used for this purpose. War fever can be obtained by spying on an enemy base with the scout plane. Please always try to choose the base of a player without an alliance to avoid political tensions and discussions.
Warning: If you have an active shield, war fever will remove it and make you vulnerable. This can have a negative impact, especially on war days. Furthermore, with war fever you will not be able to activate a shield and will have to wait until war fever has subsided after 15 minutes.
Follow-up
After completing the exercise, a few things should be done.
Alliance members
Collecting the rewards
The rewards will be sent by email, so check your inbox immediately after the exercise to collect the rewards.
War fever and shield
If the exercise takes place on a war day, stay online and alert until the war fever has subsided and then activate a new shield if necessary.
Preparing for the next exercise
Donate construction parts for the next Alliance Exercise.
Alliance leadership (R4/R5)
Communication to those who disturb the peace and deviants
If there were incidents during the exercise that disrupted the exercise, for example due to excavators or meetings outside the exercise, or members did not join the meetings from the bottom up, but from the top first, talk to the relevant members and ensure that this does not happen in the future.
Preparation for the next exercise
It is best to use the Marshalls Guard Calculator to check whether your alliance is ready for the next difficulty level of the exercise. Then start the preparation phase.
Rewards
Rewards? Ah, yes there are rewards. Two types of them. Firstly, there is an alliance reward, which every alliance member receives, regardless of participation. There is also a personal reward for all those who have participated. The rewards will be sent by email immediately after the event has ended.
Alliance reward
The alliance rewards are defined by two factors. First, we have the total damage that the alliance caused during the exercise. Second, the MVP bonus multiplier is added. Depending on the damage caused by the first-place member, this multiplier can be between 1 and 10 and is applied to the amount of rewards.

Personal rewards
The personal rewards depend on the difficulty level of the alliance exercise; the higher the level, the higher the reward. Another relevant factor is how much damage you caused in battle; here too, the higher, the better the reward.
The following table shows you the personal rewards for all difficulty levels and the respective damage values that must be achieved in order to receive the corresponding reward.
Note: if you have achieved the necessary damage for the maximum reward while participating in the event, you can end the event for yourself and avoid any troop losses. This does not apply, of course, if you are an R4 or R5 of the alliance, as in this case the other participants would have to forego your damage bonus.
