Season 1 - Genetic Recombination
Season 1 Day 3: Dear Diary, the many infections are great, but after three days of infecting, spreading viruses, and being cured either voluntarily or involuntarily, is getting a bit boring. There must be more, right?
Of course! From day three, we get a new toy, and healing with our recon planes finally makes sense. Genetic Recombination will accompany us for 47 days and will mainly help us collect the required Mutant Crystals to help increase our virus resistance.
What do I need for the Genetic Recombination?
First, we need to collect the components for the Genetic Recombination: Genetic Fragments. There are a total of 6 different Genetic Fragments which we obtain in two different ways:
Fragments 1
, 2
, and 3

We obtain Genetic Fragments 1 to 3 from the usual activities in the game:
- Killing zombies on the world map
- Killing Doom Elite zombies
- Spreading of the virus
- Radar missions
Additionally we obtain Genetic Fragments 1 to 3 by removing virus infections from our allies.
When your allies are infected with a virus, you will see the virus symbol above the name of the base. Click on the green syringe, and you will send one of your recon planes to the ally. When it arrives, a stack of the virus will be cured, and the recon plane will return.

The reward in the form of the corresponding Genetic Fragments is received via mail.
Note: Please do not heal unsolicited. Wait until the person asks for healing by linking their coordinates in the alliance chat. Your ally might have painstakingly built up a high virus load to infect others.
Fragments 4
, 5
, and 6

Genetic Fragments 4 to 6 can be obtained from the following activities in the game:
- Attack and conquer of cities
- Attacks on enemy headquarters
- Radar missions
- Killing Doom Elite zombies
Can I exchange Genetic Fragments?

Yes, after we have collected many Genetic Fragments, we still need - as with the treasure map - a complete set to perform the genetic recombination. Accordingly, there is also the possibility to exchange fragments within the alliance.
You can either select a missing fragment and a multiple present fragment and propose the exchange to your allies, or view and accept exchanges offered by your allies on the Allies Exchange tab.
How do I combine the fragments?

Click on the season 1 button and then on the Genetic Recombination.Click the blue button there, and the recombination of Genetic Fragments will be carried out.
How often can I perform the recombination?
Here’s the catch. Genetic Recombination is tied to a timer, just like the Alliance Technology donation. At the beginning of the event on the third day of the season, you directly receive 10 recombinations, and then the number of available recombinations increases by 1 every two hours, up to a maximum of 30 recombinations.
So, on the first day of Genetic Recombination, you have up to 22, and on all subsequent days, 12 recombinations available.
Are there rewards for this?
Yes, and exactly what we need. For each Genetic Recombination, you will receive 78,000 Mutant Crystals . This number will be increased every week directly after the end of the weekly alliance duel. Also have a look at this trick to increase the yield of mutant crystals
